Ahh. Freshman at Last!

I have almost survived my very first week as a high schooler! Just one more day, and I'm home free. Funny. Every day feels like Friday to me (Or at least, like it should be Friday) But when the day actually comes, it's like it's Monday.

In case you're wondering, I did get lost the first day. Pretty darn lost too. It was to gym, of all things. But there's no signs, people led me in the wrong directions, and it's hidden behind a building you don't see too many people going to. But, luckily, after the tardy bell had long rang and everyone had left, I found some confused girls walking around, and it turned out they were lost for gym too! So, together, we found it. :)

Things went pretty slow after that. But now that we're actually starting to work, I'm liking it more. (Not the work, but just that things have picked up a bit) Choir has been a blast! It's definitely a challenge, since I haven't been involved since elementary school, but I'm up for it!

Well, before I sign off, there is something I found on Jen's blog that made me laugh out loud. And we all need a good laugh. It's good for the soul. (Since my copy and pasting isn't working, I'm only sharing my favorites)

Love is...

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know your name is safe in their mouth." -Billy, Age 4

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more... My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss." Emily, Age 8

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, and then he wears it every day." Noelle, Age 7

"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken." Elaine, Age 5

"When you love someone, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." Karen, Age 7

There were plenty of others, but these kinda stuck out to me. :)

8th Grade Retreat

Wasn't yesterday awesome! All the 8th Graders from church gathered at the student building and they drove us down to Madeline Pierce's home (A VERY beautiful home!) for some sun, fun, and a final goodbye to middle school.

Bus ride there. Haha, isn't Brandon photogenic? :)

Brandon modeling my new SUSIE glasses! ;)

Rachel and me(:

I believe that's someone knee boarding but it's a little hard to tell.

The day was a BLAST! I went tubing twice (And now has sore elbows, arms, and legs thank you very much) ;), swam, played volleyball, listened to some great lessons, and one of the best things was something I actually ended up doing by myself. I really wanted to try out water skiing, so right before we had worship and left, I went out on a boat and tried it out!!

(Keep in mind I used the pole, not the normal rope thing, so it was a little easier) The first time, I lasted about 3 seconds. The second time, about 5. The third time, 20! (Each time my skis came off, and that wasn't very fun. Neither was getting back to the pole.) ;) BUT... on my last turn, right before I was about to pass all my friends, I STOOD UP!!! And made it half way across the lake!!! I was so proud of myself for having the guts to do it. :) :) And now I'll have the privilege of saying I've water skied!

Anticipation

My Most Recent Quiz: :)

What School Year Are You, Really?

Results
You're a freshman in high school.
Welcome to the worst year of your life! Just kidding -- it's not that bad. As a 9th grader, you might feel like everyone else is taller, louder, and more confident than you... and it's sort of true. When you first get to high school, it's hard to be 100% sure where you belong or who your friends are. No matter how hard you try to blend in with the crowd, it seems like you're always headed up the wrong stairway or getting pushed aside in the halls. If the upperclassmen aren't very friendly, it's probably because they're totally freaked about college, SAT scores, and plans for the future. Lucky for you, all that stress is still a few years away. A bit of advice: If you show up at school in your underwear, forget your locker combination, and realize you forgot to study for a huge test, it's probably just a bad dream. Wake up, already! And please, put some clothes on before you leave the house.

While I will admit that most everyone is going to be taller than me, this quiz seemed pretty off. (Although it did get right that I'm going to be a freshman!) :) But as far as everything else goes, I know 1. My identity is in Christ, 2. I have some great Christian friends and 3. Some of the upperclassmen are super nice. Very reassuring. :)

School is getting scary close... less than a week! Luckily, I still have one fun summer thing left to do before school starts (gulp). This Saturday all the 8th Graders from church are heading to the Pierce's (who live on a lake! wow!) for some f-u-n!

Until then, I'm still figuring out how to stop time so I can live in summer forever. ;)

Sunglasses!

What an AWESOME way to start the day!! =D

I am a huge fan of SUSIE magazine (Same creator as Brio Magazine) and yesterday they were giving away prizes. All you had to do was write a paragraph on why you wanted them. I wrote a paragraph for the glasses that say I love Jesus- and WON! How awesome is that?! I can't wait to wear them out- and witness!

Girls Day (And Night!) Out

Last Sunday, instead of heading home from church with my family, I joined my friend Rachel for a girls day and sleepover! Siiigh. I'm enjoying as much summer fun as I can- considering school is staring up in THREE WEEKS! That's some crazy stuff. I'm even getting up early tomorrow for a meeting with my new school's counselor to plan out my schedules for the next four years!

But anyway, back to the subject. :) We ended up having a great time! And yeah, did all the normal, girl sleepover stuff. Watched chick flicks, pigged out on sugar, gave each other makeovers, and talked about boys. :)
